Chuck Whitlock has more than 25 years of experience in the energy industry and currently serves as senior vice president of Strategic Growth Initiatives at Duke Energy. Chuck has managed Duke Energy’s Midwest Electric Distribution business serving 1.6 Million customers; led its natural gas transmission and distribution systems serving 500,000 customers in Ohio and Kentucky; served as interim president of Duke Energy’s commercial businesses including Duke’s renewable and international investments; and served as president of the company’s competitive generation and marketing business. Chuck holds a degree in Accounting from the University of Alaska Anchorage. He began his career at Arco Alaska Inc. where he worked in the finance organization. Chuck spent 15 years trading energy commodities for Arco, Vitol, Statoil, and started his work for Duke in May of 2000 as a power trader.
Chuck and his wife, April, have three children and live in northern Kentucky.
