As Exelon’s Director of Utility Initiatives, Susan provides strategic national energy policy direction for Exelon’s six electric utilities serving over 20 million Americans. She works closely with Exelon’s strategy, policy and regulatory groups to provide linkage between corporate policy positions and business strategies and plans. Susan also supports Exelon Utilities with external stakeholders and outreach campaigns. Issues of particular focus include EV infrastructure, renewable and microgrid integration, storage and rate design. Prior to joining Exelon, Susan served as the primary interface with the U.S. Congress, White House, federal agencies and national industry associations for Pepco Holdings, a company with multiple utilities in the Mid-Atlantic region. Issues of particular emphasis in her lobbying portfolio included critical infrastructure cyber and physical security, event response and recovery, grid resilience, and smart grid functionality. Susan spent a number of years as a public affairs consultant focused on assisting clients in their outreach to Congress and a dozen years lobbying across the country at the state and local levels for a variety of businesses and trade associations. Susan currently sits on the Board of the Gridwise Alliance and Co-Chairs the Board of the Eastern LAMPAC with IBEW leaders. She has completed the University of Idaho Utility Executive Program and the University of Wisconsin Advanced Rate Design Course, holds an MBA and a Bachelor’s in economics, both from the University of Maryland.
